Lost Atlantis 9D Experience & Interactive Museum in Santorini

A brand-new, innovative experience awaits to be enjoyed at the Lost Atlantis Museum. It is the first museum founded for Lost Atlantis, Plato’s famous myth about a highly advanced, utopian civilization whose greed and moral corruption caused Atlantis to sink into the sea. Through the legend, the great Greek philosopher aspired to present his philosophical theories that are still popular today. There have been many claims that Santorini is the location of the legendary lost city of Atlantis so living the experience in one of its alleged locations makes perfect sense and becomes more meaningful.

History enthusiasts and anyone who seeks to taste something different can take a tour at the Lost Atlantis Museum where the advanced technology takes the experience to a whole new level. During the 1-hour tour, visitors will immerse in an extraordinary journey into the past and gain insight into the Minoan history of Santorini, its connection to Atlantis as well as the geological history of the island via innovative technologies. A 9D experience will bring to life the cataclysmic destruction of Atlantis which visitors will re-live with all their senses. Converse with Plato’s animated hologram and follow him to see what inspired him to conceive the notion of the ideal city through an interactive fresco. Explore the largest Atlantis diorama in the world and the everyday life of its people with animated screens.

The brand-new facility of the museum is located in Megalochori village. Access and parking are convenient and all the public areas of the museum are wheelchair accessible. Keep in mind that pets, eating and drinking are not allowed inside the museum. Photography and filming are permitted in all areas except the 9D experience. Children under 6 years can’t take part in the 9D experience. All the presentations are available in 8 languages (Greek, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Turkish and Chinese).
