Akrotiri is a quiet village but of great interest and importance. It is situated on the southwest edge of Santorini, about 15 kilometers away from Fira, offering exquisite views of the island. It is famous for the lighthouse from where you can relish majestic sunsets.
In Akrotiri you have the opportunity to discover two wondrous beaches, Red Beach and White Beach. Red Beach is surrounded by reddish, steep cliffs that along with the dark blue waters form a stupendous contrast. White Beach, encircled with high, white rocks and covered in white pebbles.
Akrotiri village is home of the most historical treasure in Santorini, which is the archaeological site of Akrotiri, a very important prehistoric town of the Aegean that is totally worth a visit.

Our stay in September was amazing. Beautiful and clean rooms, staff is very friendly and helpfull. We will definitely return
Very good property with wonderful staffs. We stayed here for four nights at this hotel and liked everything about this hotel. Eva and rest staffs helps with all information and provide all kind of supports.
Our experience went from three star to five star after we switched rooms. Our first room was a two-story with very steep stairs going up to the bedroom loft. Unfortunately, the beautiful curved ceiling of the room required you to crouch down and lean over the railing in order to keep from whacking your head into the ceiling as you climbed the ladder-like stairs. Dangling off the cliffs above Akrotiri, it was super windy that night (and most nights) and the howling wind and banging shutters required ear plugs to get any kind of sleep. The faucet in the kitchen was also a grungy motel 6 quality unit, and the bare concrete floors were cold. We moved to another room for the next four nights and it was a totally different experience. We also ate at the restaurant several times and the octopus was some of the best I've ever eaten. The complimentary breakfasts are also excellent and include a pretty good variety of Greek and other traditional foods. I was able to get in the unheated swimming pool and it was definitely brisk, but such a beautiful property as others have said compensates for a lot of issues, even with a less than desirable room. Free shuttle service down to the local town of Akrothiri is also a great benefit. Far from the crowded tourist areas of Fira and Oia (there were 6 cruise ships in Port one of the days we were there), Apanemo offers a much more peaceful experience. There's not a lot to do on the island other than eat, drink, and shop, so we rented a buggy the hotel arranged for us and explored the island. There are excellent restaurants and ocean view bars on the far east side of the island.
Our favorite hotel out of the 8 hotels we stayed at during our time Greece! The staff was incredibly inviting and were always willing to give a recommendation or assist with transportation. The views from the hotel were stunning and since it was on the other side of the island from the busier cities it was very peaceful. The breakfast was amazing and made to order! We wish we would've stayed here for the whole trip. We will be coming back!
