Our journey begins from Fira or we may pick you up from your hotel or cruise ship and we stroll to discover the hidden gems of the caldera and take pictures. Afterward, we proceed to visit the beautiful village of Firostefani, where we will enjoy the caldera and admire the view of Therasia, a beautiful island, and debris of the old Santorini, the volcano, the mountain Skaros which is protected by UNESCO and the numerous blue-roofed churches.
The journey continues to Imerovigli where we can see and take pictures of the caves, the place where the old inhabitants of the island used to live. Then, we head to the edge of Imerovigli to see the well-known Skaros, a UNESCO-protected mountain that really floats in the air, and take pictures of the region.
On the way to Oia, we can witness red, black, and yellow volcanic lava on the left side of the mini-bus. On the right side, we see the Caldera and the Aegean Sea, and the second volcano of the island, Columbo, which is underwater. Visiting Oia, we see many old, blue-roofed traditional churches, old houses, traditional coffee shops, boutiques, and art galleries and you get the chance to try a bite of the traditional Greek baklava as you drink your coffee. We head to the old Venetian Castle which is located on the edge of the island to admire the beautiful view of Oia and take some time to visit the local shops (optional choice).
We head to the southern part of the island to see the following villages and the island's highest point, where the Prophet Elias Monastery is perched at almost 2,000 feet (600 m), enjoy the scenic view of the island, and take photos for about 15'. Then we head to the village of Pyrgos where we will take a stroll to see the blue-roofed churches, the caves, and the Venetian Castle for many amazing photos for about 30'.
Then we visit Santo Wines, a traditional Santorini winery, and grasp the opportunity to sample the local wine.
Afterward, we head to Akrotiri, a traditional village of 150 people where the well-known Red Beach and the archaeological city are located (the archaeological sightseeing is optional). Then we head to Perivolos Beach for some swimming, lunch, or/and coffee.
Lydia, our guide, was excellent! She answered all of our questions, presenting and introducing us to the Santorini history and secrets. Many spot tricks to get photos, to have lunch etc. The schedule was adapted to our needs in a really nice way. Thank you very very much!
We had Elektra as our guide and she showed us parts of Santorini we would never have found on our own. She took us to a wine tasting with an out of this world view of Santorini. If you are looking for a stress free way to see Santorini this is the tour for you. She was knowledgable about all of Santorini, and Greece, and made the day fly. Took us to an amazing restaurant for lunch right on the waterfront. We can’t speak highly enough of the service and professionalism of this tour. Do yourself a favor and book these guys. Lots of fun
Just finished a private guided tour of Santorini with Nicholas. He took us all over the island and knew the history, economy and apparently everyone on the island. My husband and I would never be able to see so much in one day on our own. An added bonus is he can navigate the hoards of people in Oia by knowing where all the great photo opportunities are and getting you in and out without stress. My husband and I are not beach people and Nicholas was very flexible in skipping that stop and taking us directly to Santos Winery for wine tasting. If you want an amazing stress free private experience then book this excursion!
