Located in the southern part, this small but beautiful church is a must-see for visitors exploring the walking path between Fira and Oia.
The Church of the Prophet Elias is a picture-perfect ivory building with a triple bell tower and a blue dome that was constructed in 1750. It is one of the most well-liked locations for landscape photography and spiritual reflection because of its peaceful setting. The church itself is encircled by a tiny courtyard that is shaded by a few pine trees to add to its tranquility.
Between Fira and Oia, on Path 9, you can reach the church. There are two options: a flat cobblestone road at the rear of the hill with views of the eastern edge of the island before reaching the church or a steeper, shorter approach along the caldera rim with breathtaking vistas.
The chapel is a great place to see Santorini's natural splendor because it offers visitors views of both the western and eastern seas.
