Megalochori, located on the southwest part of Santorini, is a picturesque, full-of-life village with friendly, lively residents. The central square is the heart of the village where locals gather in traditional cafes to unwind and have fun, creating a warm atmosphere. It is definitely worth spending an evening here in order to be part of this sentiment and taste local dishes under the natural shade the trees provide. You can find traditional taverns, cafes and shops in other corners of the village as well.
The location of the village offers sublime views on the breathtaking caldera on the west and on a vast valley on the east, full of vineyards that Megalochori is renowned for. In addition, Megalochori provides easy access to the extraordinary beaches that lie to the south, like Vlychada and Eros.

In order to reach the place from the port, take the bus from the Port to Fira and get off outside Pyrgos village. Then, take another bus with direction to Perissa/Perivolos and make a stop at Megalochori village.
We had a fantastic stay at Mesanto (september 2024) The room was spacious, comfortable and cosy and included a great secluded outside area with a private jacuzzi. The village of Megalochori was even better than we had imagined. Not as touristy as Fira and Oia. In addition the best viewpoint of the whole island (heart of Santorini) is within a 10 minute walking distance from the hotel. The family bakery was a very nice cafe, 500 meters from the hotel, and the bus stop to get to all the other areas of the Island is just next to the cafe, which made it very easy and affordable to get around to all other sights. We highly recommend Mesanto 🌟
Total relaxation! Mesanto luxury suites was an exceptional holidays experience for us. The room is super spacious, so clean with a minimal cycladic decoration which is calming... Cant describe how much we enjoyed our stay there. The jacuzzi was big enough and our little patio was so lovely and clean. There is space to park your car outside and on walking distance from the centre of Megalohori village. The village is incredible and the location is great as it is easy to commute and explore the whole island! Highly reccomended! Loved it!
Hello from Genoveva, 🇩🇪: I have found this Hotel through their website. I have to say, l stayed there from 16.08 - 21.08.24 and l had an amazing experience. The Room very nice and with everything, Jacuzzi it was amazing, very clean and non stop in our function. The Room Service was every day: - cleaning the Room, the Bed, the Towel - was changed every day. The Reception always kind and very responsible, every time reached through WhatsApp and Email too. The Village Megalochori very beautiful, interesting, amazing Sunset points of view, the Restaurants very near with the Hotel; at the Center of Village, very silence and quiet Suite . I am sure, that l will be back again and of course l will recommend this Hotel to all my Friends. Kindly regards Genoveva🇩🇪
This accomodation is located near the center of Megalochori and near a winery. It's quite, it's intimate, it's clean and the cleaning is made every day both for the room and the jacuzzi, the towels are also changed daily. The bed is confortable and big enough and there is an air condition in the room also. If you decide to rent a car to visit all the island (recommanded) you have a parking place near the house.
