Amaya Selection of Villas

We stayed 3 nights in a double storey villa - had a small living room + kitchen and a balcony on 1st floor and a bed room + Bathroom + a small single bed bedroom and a small washroom + outdoor jacuzzi on the ground floor. Amazing View cannot be better than this (oia town and caldera), 5 mins walk to whereever u want to go in oia and you get out of the house an you are on the main spot - Amazing Location. Amazing service by the host. Breakfast was included. The staff was on point hospitable, from the gentleman who escorted us to the villa (explained areas around and points to visit and insisted to carry our bags which were very heavy and was very difficult to carry on those hilly steps) to the lady who use to come for room service and housekeeping everyday all of them were extremely warm and welcoming. The Host was always available on watsapp for any queries related to car rentals, restaurants around, room service, housekeeping or any kind of travel guide and use to respond promtly. Highly recommended

Since this is my first time coming to Santorini, we expected a clean place to enjoy and stay. However, everything is just terrible. First, there is only hot water for 6 minutes; after that, all we get is cold water. WiFi is not stable as well. Second, after speaking to the villa manager, who had an awful attitude and would take forever to respond to requests by the way, she offered us a new room, which also had a suite of its own problems. The new room’s hot water also cut in and out. Thirdly, housekeeping, when we first entered the room, there was dust and hair on the floor, right next to the entrance. Even when housekeeping came later, the dust and hair was still there. Every day's breakfast (fried egg and burned bacon) was cold. The experience in general was just terrible.

My husband and I visited Santorini in Mar 2024. The villa is a former cave dwelling converted into a living room upstairs and bedroom downstairs. Our unit came with a small jacuzzi. A bit dated. The view of the caldera from each room is absolutely breathtaking. Plenty of restaurants and shopping close by. The hiking trail from Oia to Fira is about 2-3 hours one way.

A horrendous review for a horrendous hotel. Where do I begin. Let me preface by saying that you mustn’t expect a hotel-like experience from Amaya Selection of Villas; it is a glorified airbnb at best. Be warned that hot water lasts a few minutes on a good day, the bedsheets are stained, wifi coverage does not extend to the bedroom, bathroom, or balcony, and the hot tub is not hot, nor is it clean. Breakfast came cold in the morning - we tried to feed the scraps to the stray cats but they wouldn’t have them either. Please also be wary of the host - she is rude, uncooperative, and might I say incompetent? If there is one good thing I’d like to say about Amaya it is that the view is quite the spectacle - perfect for a little Billie Holiday and a glass of wine… this for the sake of ending my review on a good note. So if you’re looking for a view and a mattress for 200-300 euros a night, Amaya’s the selection of villas for you.
