Beautiful hotel and team running it. We really can’t say enough good things about Charisma and its amazing staff! Thank you to each and every one of you for making our time in Santorini absolutely perfect!!
Our family vacation at Charisma Hotel in Santorini, Greece was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment my father, sister, and I arrived, we were enveloped in the warmth of Greek hospitality and the breathtaking beauty of the island. The hotel’s location is simply perfect, offering stunning views of the iconic Santorini caldera and the azure Aegean Sea. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and provided the perfect blend of modern comfort and traditional Cycladic charm. The private balconies were our favorite spots for watching the famous Santorini sunsets together. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the exceptional staff. Their genuine friendliness and attentiveness made us feel like honored guests throughout our stay. I must give a special shout-out to Stella, who was absolutely amazing! Her local knowledge was invaluable, helping us plan the perfect itinerary that catered to all our interests. The stunning location, luxurious accommodations, and especially the outstanding service from staff like Stella, created memories we’ll cherish for a lifetime. If you’re looking for a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure in Santorini, Charisma Hotel is an absolute gem. We can’t wait to return!
We had booked the most expensive room with a cave pool for 2 nights and expected it to be the best luxurious experience ever, celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. (Last week of August.) But it was a really dissapointing and frustrating experience. Got an average welcome the first day. Room was not ready till after 3pm so had to kill time around the area. It was too hot, and going up and down so many stairs was too tiring. Finally, got to see the room. It was beautiful and the view from the front of the room was amazing. Soon after, we started seeing issues. First the sink right outside the washroom was not draining water. Called reception to fix the blockage. Then we noticed water leaking through the front foyer walls. Someone came to fix the sink and put towels to soak the leaking water. Next we thought of using the cave pool. It was like a sauna with warm water and looked like a little hot tub. To top it off, saw hair and other dirt floating in the water. All the excitement just died at that point. Had to call reception again to get the pool cleaned. It was really frustrating to see a dirty pool after they took few hours to clean and get the room ready. They did send someone to clean the pool. Later, went to the hotel restaurant by the pool for dinner. Quite a few steps to get down. The view was great. Food was below average. I found the server little rude as he made a racist comment when I asked about the risotto on the menu. He said something like "Indian people find it too spicy". I didn't like the remark, but I said I will try. It was definitely not spicy, but way too sour, like I was having concentrated lime juice. The server definitely didnt know how to explain the flavor. Had to change the dish. At the end, he charged for the risotto as well saying we ordered it so we have to pay for it. Had to fight to get those charges removed. Another unpleasant experience. Later in the evening, we had a power outage in the room. Had to call someone again to fix that. This had happened due to the water leakage. They fixed the lights but wifi wouldn't work. Next morning, we had the pre-ordered breakfast brought to the room. It was good. Then went to reception to sort out the issues as they had not found the fix for the water leakage. All they did was clean up and change the towels. Finally, saw the manager that afternoon, he was willing to either give a discount or switch rooms. We only had 1 more night so didn't want to switch the rooms. We took the discount offer. Also he said he would try to arrange transport from the hotel to the ferry for our departure next morning. As we came out of reception, we heard the manager and staff laughing. It was obvious they were making fun of us. Just shows the professionalism of this place. All these issues just spoiled our stay as we couldn't utilize our room properly and the back and forth just wasted so much of our time that we could have used to fully explore the island of Santorini. Anyways, checking out the next morning, we were given the breakfast boxes and transport to the ferry. Even though we had given specific instructions that 1 box had to be vegetarian and the other 2 only chicken as we don't eat beef or pork. When we opened the boxes, all 3 had ham sandwiches. We ended up buying snack on the ferry. We were so furious. I still can't believe we spent almost $3000 CAD for the 2 nights for this kind of service.
We stayed here for our Honeymoon and had an an amazing time! The room was gorgeous with a stunning view of the sunset! The hotel also holds a sunset event. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. They helped to make the experience perfect. The pool was amazing and very chilled.
