Absolutely no one can visit The Athenian House and not love their stellar sunset views, delicious food and incredible cocktails. Acknowledging the 180€ cost of the Heritage Grand Tasting Menu was indulgent, this was the best meal I had in Santorini. The octopus and beetroot risotto and tomato confit were standouts and the Athenian Martini - which was very strong - tasted like the nectar of the gods and one of the best drinks I had in Greece (or elsewhere). Our waiter was lovely and the kitchen was able to accommodate my allergy to gluten and my partner’s allergies to coconut, peanuts, tree nuts and sesame. While you can find a lovely sunset spot throughout the island, this was truly a unique and memorable dining experience.

We dined at The Athenian House and enjoyed an exceptional meal. Each dish was a work of art, with incredible flavor combinations and stunning presentation. The caldera view, especially during sunset, is simply breathtaking. The colors of the sky reflected in the sea create a magical backdrop. The service was impeccable, the staff was attentive and professional. The delightful surprise at the end of the meal was a lovely touch. If you're looking for a unique and unforgettable dining experience in Santorini, The Athenian House is the perfect choice.

So I have mixed emotions about this place, purely because they lead the 180 euros per person menu - which to be honest I almost fell over down the stairs into the Aegean Sea 😂… We had to ask for the À la carte menu because it was no where to be seen (only because we saw it on the website before arriving & thought that 90 euros was tolerable for a finer dining experience)…but then we watched them do it with everyone around us & the expressions on most people faces going through the same thing we did was hard to watch. Outside of this, the food was good. Risotto was amazing, the mains were certainly on the incredibly smaller side, I’ve added some photos for you to judge for yourself. The service was UNREAL - waiters were super attentive, but is that what you pay for & the view? I would say yes. Again, I’m on the fence, I left feeling like it was half a scam & half amazing.

Overall a lovely place. All staffs are very nice. The only thing is that they will only give you the €180 tasting menu (€170 for veg). Because half of the menu has ingredients I can't have, they then reluctantly gave us the €90 menu for three courses. Those courses I chose I like them. But it's not a good starting experience if they are not up front about their menu
