We happened to be in the area checking out the pottery workshops, and were we extremely fortunate to have found this hidden gem. It was coming to the end of season and they were going to close in a few days. An absolute close shave for us. The lady who served us (apologies for we didn't get your name) made our experience so comfortable. She would check in on us, constantly ensure that every little bit of our dining time was perfect, and even share heaps of information about the season, the area, transportation, etc... Food-wise I must admit I'm very pleased when they refuse to serve any produce that are out of season - whether they have it in store is beside the point. They could have served frozen fish but they did not, and instead shared with us that because the produce weren't fresh, those dishes will not be available. This only shows the standard that they uphold themselves to. We had quite a few dishes, but the king of the meal was truly the octopus. The octopus was one of the best I've had across the world; it wasn't too chewy like rubber, it wasn't too soft and lacking structure. My wife and I found it to be perfectly done. The rest of the dishes were of course delicious. Needless to say, we hope to be back. Oh, by the way, excellent view too!!
This is the very definition of a hidden gem. There’s no indication that the best restaurant with the most breathtaking views lies behind the Athermi Suites. In fact if it hadn’t been for the Google reviews would have completely missed the best food experience of our holiday. So returning the favour for future visitors. If you’re staying in Megalochori you must try to get in here for a special night. It’s definitely in the ‘special meal’ price range (for us anyway) - but 100% worth it. There are very few tables as mainly it’s for the guests of the Suites. Lucky them! The service was exemplary and quite simply best food we’ve eaten on Santorini (or anywhere recently for that matter). Can’t recommend this place enough. Find it and experience it.
A must if you are in Megalochori!! But make sure to reserve beforehand. My boyfriend and I made a reservation for our anniversary. We arrived around 6:30pm which was perfect time to enjoy the gorgeous sunset view in early October. It's a small, quiet location in the back of the hotel. The food was amazing (meatball entrée, sea bass and sea food risotto mains, chocolate lava dessert) - all my compliments to the chef!! And our hostess was very efficient and kind. I would come back to Santorini just to eat at this restaurant again.
I was staying at an inn nearby and saw it was walking distance and had great reviews. FABULOUS! Mouthwatering pasta dish and delicious white wine, homemade sourdough bread. The sunset view is spectacular. It's not cheap, but it's worth it.
