I recently dined at Mavro, and the experience was quite memorable, thanks in large part to the stunning sunset views that the restaurant offers. The ambiance is truly magical, making it a perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a special occasion. The food was delicious, showcasing high-quality ingredients and expertly prepared dishes. However, the portion sizes left a bit to be desired, especially considering the price. The dinner options start at 145 euros and go up to 210 euros, which feels a bit steep for what you receive. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. One downside, though, is the wine list; the prices seem quite inflated compared to market value, which might deter some diners from pairing their meals with a good bottle. Overall, Mavro offers a lovely evening with great food and a breathtaking view, but be prepared for a hefty bill. If you don't mind splurging a bit, it can be a worthwhile experience.
This restaurant is our best so far on all levels. The food, view, service and music were done with utmost attention. The food, every dish was exceptional in terms of presentation, taste and experience. The view was breathtaking. Ephi did an exceptional service and made our experience even more enjoyable. We went for the a la carte. Highly recommend the tiger prawn, oysters, eggplant, shrimps, the risotto is out of this world and the white chocolate deserts…enjoy 😊
Phenomenal! For me dining is part of a broader experience that few restaurants can provide you with. MAVRO at Kivotos Santorini is one of the few that offer that all-sensory experience. The location is breathtaking offering unabstracted Caldera view, probably the best on the island. The staff highly professional, ready to meet your demands. The cuisine is mind-blowing worthy of a Michelin star.
We are staying at La Maltese Estate- the hotel right on top of Mavro Restaurant and upon arrival we weren’t really clear that the restaurant wasn’t part of the hotel as they look like they go together so we asked a waitress and she said it wasn’t but we could still take pictures there. That evening as the sun was setting we got all dolled up and went to take pictures where nobody was at (my brother and I) and a waiter/ possible manager of the restaurant comes over and starts berating us in front of people saying we aren’t apart of that establishment, we asked if we could just take one pic and explained that we are staying at La Maltese and had already asked for permission and been told yes by the other waitress - he continued to say no - blocked the staircase for me to get back to the room very aggressively while telling us to leave… how can we leave when you’re blocking us in? (See photos of the staircase) Anyways it was really disappointing because we probably would’ve enjoyed a meal at the restaurant but this all happened the day of arrival and who wants to spend money at place where they are so incredibly rude. There’s a way to have a conversation and explain without being so hostile.
