The village of Vlychada is a small village in the south part of Santorini, which is considered a quiet spot to spend your vacation at. The village is mostly famous for its marina, which is considered the most important port in the archipelago, as many fishing vessels are moored there every day and sell their catch to the restaurants in the area. The marina is also known for the cruises around the island, which depart from there.
The area also holds an impressive black sand beach, surrounded by high cliffs which are formatted in the resemblance of the moon, and which provide a relaxing and peaceful environment to all its visitors.
The Tomato Factory is also why Vlychada became famous during the 20th century, as it is then that it became an industrialized town. Nowadays, the old tomato factory is transformed into a modern Industrial Tomato Museum, which offers its visitors a journey to the history of tomato production.
