Worldwide, Boutari is among the most famous Greek wine brands, synonymous with Greek viniculture. The company owns seven wineries, six in Greece and one in France, each playing its role in this prestige. Among its Greek establishments is the stunning winery located in Megalochori, Santorini—a region celebrated for its rich winemaking heritage.
Since its establishment in 1989, the Boutari Winery in Santorini has played a significant role in the renaissance of the island's vineyards. Its brilliant structure is white-domed with pebbled floors and harmonizes well with the island's landscape.
The winery is surrounded by a private vineyard of about 6 hectares with local grape varieties such as Aidani, Assyrtiko, Athiri, and Mavrotragano. Moreover, Boutari innovates the experimental cultivation of international varieties, expanding the winemaking potential of the island.
Open daily, the winery is an experience that fascinates the senses. Wine tasting includes some of the best vintages of Santorini, combined with delicious local dishes. Among the excellences: "Kallisti" and "Kallisti Reserve", made with innovative techniques, show the depth and complexity of Santorini’s terroir.
Guided tours in multiple languages take guests through the production facilities and the scenic vineyard, offering insights into the winemaking process. A highlight of the visit is the audio-visual presentation in the winery's cozy auditorium, which narrates the rich history of Santorini’s vineyards and their remarkable resurgence.
The Boutari Winery features a boutique where visitors can purchase wines and wine accessories and books that will remind them of this experience. And at the reception area, specially designed for special events, the advantages of this exceptional place become extended.
Boutari Winery is an actual submerging experience into the beauty and tradition of Santorini. The view, together with its history and the most innovative winemaking techniques, make it a place to be visited not only by lovers of wine but also by anyone who wants to get closer to the culture and natural beauty of this island.
